Sister Golden Hair — All-Female-Fronted 60s & 70s Live Cover Band in Austin, Texas
An all-female-fronted band paying tribute to the harmony-rich hit songs of the '60s & '70s — with the good feels only these soundtrack songs can bring.
A Tribute to the Golden Age of Songwriting
Sister Golden Hair the Band is a female-fronted Central Texas ensemble led by Texas songwriters and performers Barbara Nesbitt, Wendy Colonna, and Emily Shirley — who have collectively spent decades writing, touring, and entertaining audiences across Texas.
SGH was formed to celebrate and pay tribute to the harmony-rich music of the 1960s and 1970s — songs woven into the cultural tapestry of modern songwriting. Through thoughtfully reimagined arrangements, signature harmonies, and stories from the stage, the band offers audiences both beloved songs and deeper context about the writers, cultural moments, and musical traditions behind them.
Every SGH show is part concert, part conversation. You'll leave knowing Fleetwood Mac a little better than when you walked in.
SGH performs in spaces ranging from cultural arts programs and community theaters to festivals, libraries, retirement communities, and listening-room venues — and when appropriate, weaves in original music from its members, keeping the lineage of songwriting alive.
We scale from an intimate duo to a full six-piece band. to discuss your event.

Meet the Band
We each maintain an active independent career with multiple album releases and extensive performance history across Texas and beyond — studio recording, bandleading, session work, and songwriting workshops. We came together for what happens when we sing as one: the chance to relive these songs, embody them fully, and reimagine them with fresh arrangements and harmonies. That's what we love.

Sister Golden Hair brought their 'A-Game' harmonies and wit to standing ovation following a show that kept us all wanting more. We booked them for our RV rally in Kerrville, Texas and were so glad we did. Tightest harmonies and talented instrumentalist.
